The Pearl Daisy Experience

Heard of it? Yay or nay? Well you have now!

I was hit with the Daisy Fever when I stumbled across Sis Amena's channel on YouTube. Needless to say, I subscribed straight away. Now, not having a paypal account (or even a debit card for that matter!) I didn't really see purchasing from Pearl Daisy as an option....

But sure enough, soon the endless hijab tutorials weren't enough for me! I NEEDED the hijabs from the video (yes, my friends, needed. sue me ;-P). Now, when the Bella Maxi Hoojab went up - that was the final straw!

"Mum?? Can I use your card? I SWEAR I will pay you back!"

And so, my Pearl Daisy journey began!

I jumped onto the laptop (with a cup of tea, of course!) and indulged in page after page of hijabs, hoojabs and underscarves. I could have spent hundreds! But, being my first order, I decided to keep it simple.

The first item I added to my basket was, of course, the Bella Maxi Hoojab, worn by Sister Amena herself here:

Now the next 2 items to catch my eye were inspired by my love of the deep ocean and the magical, imaginary world of Ingo!

The Ocean Depth Basic Hoojab

And the Teal and White lace underscarf:

Beautiful aren't they, mashaAllah!

Proceed to check out....

Now the mistakes start.

Disaster strikes.

In my over-flowing excitement, I failed to put the first line of my address!

Making the order at around 1/2am in the morning, it wasn't until I checked the invoice at 11am that I realised what I'd done! I dashed onto the computer and e-mailed the site.... Then I messaged Amena on Youtube just for good measure!

For an incredibly busy woman, Sister Amena's response was quick and helpful, she thanked me for my order, forwarded my message to her packing team and then gave me an estimation of when my order will be dispatched!

Wa-hay!

Still, I was anxious.... (I do tend to over-worry at times!)

Days past...

Monday came and went...

Then, 2 days ago, I received this little beauty:

Now, unfortunately I can't make the text bigger, but this is what it reads:

Hiya, Khadijah

We thought we would let you know about the status of your order since our last email.

Once everything on your order had been collected, your parcel was packed with gentility and love, and then placed on a velvet cushion, whilst it awaited being stickered with your address and tracking number (**************). Then, we all gathered around and bid your parcel farewell, as one of the Daisies happily carried it to the post office on August 18 2011.

Thank you again :o)

We miss you already! Please come and visit us again soon

With best wishes,

The Pearl Daisy Team

How cute?? I received this email around fajr time and went rushing to my husband to read it out to him and when I asked him, "How cute is that??" He just rolled his eyes and I could tell he was thinking "You girls love all that frilly stuff!" Yeah? And what?

Aaaaaaaanyhoo, I waited in anticipation (tracking the order about 5 times a day) and, finally! Yesterday it arrived!!

Now, I wanted the unveiling to be a relaxed, enjoyable experience so, naturally, I wanted the little one have his nap. Would he sleep?? NO! I tried for half the day to get the little bundle of joy to sleep and EVENTUALLY at around 5:30pm, he dozed off.

Me toffee dodgers and herbal at the ready (you HAVE to try the Diplomat Berry Fruits -Gorgeous!) I unpacked the... package? Parcel? Gift? (you get the gist!)

Now, attached to the invoice was a sweet little business card which I thought was a nice effect (It felt like a membership card to be honest! I keep it in my purse now! :-P)

Now to the treasures themselves!! First, was the Teal and White Lace Underscarf:

At first, it felt a little big but, once I tied it, I was grateful for all the extra material - I very rarely fit all my hair in an underscarf!

Secondly, my ocean depth hoojab!

Now, being my first ever hoojab, I admit I went a little... dorky and flipped it around oo-ing and ahh-ing along with murmurs of "fancy..." and "huh- check that out". Then, the giggles sent in and I played about with it wrapping it around my arms and chest and annoying the heck out of my husband!

Sillyness aside, I LOVE the colour, texture, everything! Fantastic product! Another thing I loved was the funky label! Check it out:

AND, Finally!

The best till last.....

drumroll.....

Just check out the colours on that!! (I saturated the colours on the photo so you could see it clearer). I absolutely love it! And, being a maxi hoojab, all the extra material is fantastic! I twisted and draped as much as I wanted, still having maximum coverage! (Don't forget the seam-free hood!!)

And then - the real playtime began:

Amenakin's channel? Check!

Mirror? Check!

Hijab pins/slides? Check!

That's right! I got on with the tutorials and had a whale of a time trying all the different styles!

And so, my first Pearl Daisy journey was complete! I loved every second and all the little touches made it that much better!

I am now a Pearl Daisy. (ALWAYS wanted to say that :-P)
